I photographed this image at sunset on Porth Beach, Newquay. I arrived not hopeful that there would be much of a sunset. It was cloudy and had just started to spit with rain. As I pulled up at Porth beach to park the rain stopped and the sun came out. The tide was out and as I walked down the beach towards the sea, the wet sand started to reflect the stunning change of light, mirroring what turned out to be the perfect sunset. The silhouette of gulls flying home to roost for the night completed the image.
